More than £2,000 has been raised by Invertek Drives employees for a children’s hospice.

A group of staff from the company’s HQ at Welshpool, Powys, UK, and other countries took part in a 5k for 10 days fundraising effort during November, leading up to the Hope House hospice’s #finalmomentsmatter 36-hour campaign which began on 21 November.

Staff had earlier held a sweet shop to raise funds for the campaign. The hospice’s campaign itself raised more than £560,000.

Team members ran and walked 5k between 11 November and 20 November. Some of the team then got together for a final 5k walk around the historic Powis Castle on Saturday, 20 November.

Making a difference

A spokesperson for Hope House said: “At Hope House Children’s Hospice we know that Final Moments Matter and that the last moments of a child’s life should be as precious as their first.

“That is why our mission is to make sure that no one faces the death of a child alone, so that every family facing the death of a child gets the very best care and support when and where they need it.”

Bryony Wilson, from Invertek’s marketing team, organised the fundraising event. “Hope House undertakes a lot of great work that helps support families through tough times. We wanted to do our bit and as usual Team Invertek members stepped up to the mark.

“We want to thank everyone who donated to our efforts. It was great to see the final Hope House campaign surpass its £500k target. So many children and families will benefit as a result.”
