Invertek delighted at Powys Business Awards hat-trick

Invertek Drives Ltd is delighted to have scooped a hat-trick of accolades at this year’s Powys Business Awards – including being named Overall Powys Business of the Year for the second time in a row.

Winners were announced at a glittering ceremony on Friday, September 30, hosted by TV weatherman Derek Brockway, and Invertek received awards in the ‘Technology and Innovation’ and ‘International Trade’ categories before then being named as ‘Overall Powys Business of the Year’.

Invertek’s Sales and Marketing Director, Rhydian Welson, said: “I am delighted we have achieved such success and to be named as overall business of the year was very much the icing on the cake, especially as this is the first time that one company has received this award for two years in a row.

“We are very committed to being based in Powys as our plans for a new factory at our existing Welshpool site show and it is rewarding to be recognised by our local business community.

“The awards we won very much recognise our company’s main strengths.

“Firstly, we put technology and innovation at the heart of everything we do and last year alone saw us design, manufacture and launch two innovative products – the Optidrive E3 and Optidrive Eco.

“Secondly, in international trade, we now employ 190 people worldwide and some 90% of the VFDs made at the Powys factory are exported to more than 80 countries around the globe.

This latest news follows on from the company’s success at the same event last year when Invertek was not only named Powys Business of the Year but also received a second accolade - the Award for Development of New Markets in the UK or Export, sponsored by Mid Wales Manufacturing Group.
