Innovators of the future are inspired during a visit to Invertek Drives

Potential innovators of the future have been shown the world of variable frequency drive technology during a visit to Invertek Drives global headquarters and manufacturing facility in Mid Wales, UK.

Students from Year 13 at Concord College, near Shrewsbury, Shropshire, were given an overview of the work and career paths available at Invertek in Welshpool, Powys.

The visit by the physics and maths students also included a tour of the facilities, including logistics, production, engineering, and innovation.

“We’re always keen to showcase what we have at Invertek to young people who have an interest in the type of career paths we offer. Quite often young people are unaware of the wide and varied options they have here in Mid Wales and Shropshire, so to have them physically visit the site often opens their eyes to the opportunities,” said Julia Gough, Training Manager at Invertek.

“The Year 13 students are about to embark on their journey through university. This will hopefully inspire them to consider working in electronic engineering, possibly for Invertek, or consider applying for our graduate training programme.”

Invertek Drives employs more than 260 people at its headquarters at Welshpool, Powys, in roles ranging from production technicians through to electronic engineers.
