Variable frequency drive specialist, Invertek Drives, has donated a massive £3500 to Hope House Children’s Hospice after thirteen of its employees took part in the Lake Vyrnwy half marathon last month.
Having supported the charity for a number of years, Invertek Drives was delighted that so many of its team put themselves forward for the 13.1 mile course.
On the day, some of the running team beat their previous personal bests, but for most it was the first time they’d taken part in a half-marathon.
Invertek Drives’ Sales and Marketing Director, Rhydian Welson, said: “Invertek Drives supports the local community and local charities as much as possible. ‘Team Invertek’ thoroughly enjoyed participating in the event, and all of the runners have been overwhelmed by the high level of sponsorship received.”
All donated funds will now be used to help the charity in its work looking after terminally ill children, and in providing respite care for those with lifelong conditions.
Vanessa Thomas, Fundraising Manager for Hope House Children’s Hospice, added: “A massive thank you to the Invertek Drives’ team for their participation in the Lake Vrynwy half marathon. The monies raised will go such a long way in helping us to care for a number of local terminally ill children and their families.”
