The energy and cost saving potential of installing an Optidrive variable frequency drive (VFD) from Invertek Drives will be showcased to key decision makers from the maritime industry next month.
Invertek’s general purpose and specialist AC inverters, including DNV accredited products, are used to provide precise motor control and reduce the energy used in a range of marine applications including bow thrusters, compressors and cranes, to pumps, ventilation and winches.
Hiflex Automatiseringstechniek BV, Invertek’s sales partner in the Netherlands, will be exhibiting on booth 7313 at Europort in Rotterdam (3rd-6th November) to show how Optidrive variable frequency drives can help the global shipping industry meet stringent CO₂ reduction targets.
Tony Cox, Sales Manager at Invertek Drives, will be attending the two day show to support Hiflex and provide further technical details to visitors if required. Tony says, “Significant increases in global energy costs, and the introduction of taxes and legislation relating to the industrial production of CO₂ gases in the shipping industry, means the need to reduce energy consumption has never been greater.
“Invertek’s Optidrive VFDs can lower energy usage by as much as 60% by matching the speed of the motor with the precise requirements of the application - helping ship owners to meet CO₂ reduction targets and significantly reduce their overheads.”
The 2015 show will be the second time Hiflex has exhibited at Europort, as John van der Lugt, Hiflex’s Sales Manager, explains, “The 2013 show was extremely successful and we are confident that this year’s Europort will be equally worthwhile.
“Billed as a meeting place for the international maritime community, Europort is attended by almost 30,000 visitors from around the world so offers huge potential for us to showcase Invertek’s products.”
