A new variable frequency drive (VFD) designed for CO2 refrigerant systems is to be launched by Invertek Drives Ltd at Chillventa 2018 in Nuremberg, Germany (16-18 October).
The VFD will be launched as part of a partnership with Danish company Reftronix which will be launching a new CO2 condensing unit controller at the exhibition to be used with the VFD as part of a one-stop solution.
Both companies will be sharing a stand at the show (Hall 5, Stand 205).
The technical partnership will provide an energy-efficient, natural refrigerant-based solution to comply with the requirements that the EU’s F-Gas Regulation and Eco-Design Directive imposed on the HVAC&R industry.
It will also use IOT technology to provide remote, secure and efficient management and monitoring of such systems.
The companies predict energy efficiency gains of at least 25% with the controller and VFD compared to a traditional ‘on and off’ control.
Invertek Drives will also be showcasing its Optidrive E3 and Optidrive Eco which are used widely within the global HVAC&R sector.
“The CO2 refrigerant market is proliferating as tougher and more stringent EU F-Gas (Fluorinated Greenhouse Gas) regulations come into force,” said Mike Carman, International Business Development Manager at Invertek Drives Ltd.
“Our technical partnership with Reftronix, with the combined VFD and CDU controller to be revealed at Chillventa, will provide an energy efficient solution for OEMs within the refrigeration sector.”
More details about the products will be revealed at Chillventa.
Invertek Drives Ltd and Reftronix will be at Hall 5, Stand 205.
