Invertek Drives is delighted to announce that it was named winner in the Best International Trade category in the UK Energy Innovation Awards 2013. Production Manager Eddie Hartley attended the awards ceremony, held last night in Manchester, and collected the trophy on behalf of Invertek.
The Best International Trade Award, sponsored by UKTI, aimed to recognise businesses which are taking steps to ensure that international trade becomes a significant proportion of their business, as well as those where import and export already plays a major role in their operation.
Invertek Drives, the only Welsh company to make it through to the final, won the coveted title because of the huge energy saving potential of its products and its outstanding performance in export markets.
Established in 1998, Invertek now sells its products in more than 80 countries worldwide through a network of international sales partners; export trade currently accounts for more than 90% of the independently owned company’s business.
Sales and Marketing Director, Rhydian Welson, says, “We are delighted to have won this award. We devote a considerable amount of resource to developing global markets by working closely with our international sales partners to build Invertek’s brand profile. The energy saving potential of our drives is a key message that underpins all of our global communications activities.”
Invertek’s AC inverters, used to control the speed of electric motors, can reduce energy consumption by more than 50% in industrial, HVAC and pump applications by matching motor speeds to the exact requirements of each application.
Rhydian continues, “Our international focus is being rewarded by a significant increase in demand in a number of countries. Sales of our Optidrives have already grown by 20% this year in Italy and we’re expecting to see that trend repeated across a number of key markets as more countries implement legislation regulating energy consumption in industrial applications.”
Invertek Drives has invested heavily over recent years in the development of the high performance Optidrive P2 range of industrial drives and the Optidrive HVAC range for building services automation and pump control applications. The E2 general purpose drive completes this suite of energy saving products to suit a massive range of applications around the world.
The UK Energy Innovation Awards were created by the Energy Innovation Centre and celebrate technologies working to deliver a low carbon, sustainable and energy efficient future.
