Invertek Drives is delighted to announce that it has been selected as a finalist in the ENDS Green Economy Awards 2013.
The awards, formerly the Green Business Awards, aim to celebrate the pioneers of Britain's ‘brave new green economy’ – other shortlisted companies include Amey, Costain, The Co-operative Group, Dell and Skanska.
Invertek’s entry in the SME energy efficiency innovation category (supported by the Department of Energy and Climate Change) focused on the company’s extensive investment in its Optidrive range of variable speed drives.
Reducing energy consumption in industrial applications is a huge growth market; governments around the world are introducing legislation which aims to lower the amounts of energy used in order to conserve precious resources and save money. Optidrives can reduce energy consumption by more than 50% in industrial and HVAC applications by exactly matching the speed of the electric motor with the application requirements.
Sales and Marketing Director, Rhydian Welson, comments, “We are very proud to have the energy saving potential of our products recognised by being shortlisted in these prestigious awards, alongside household names such as Sainsbury’s.
“Invertek was established 15 years ago and now sells its products into more than 80 countries worldwide – we have worked extremely hard to develop a range of compact variable speed drives with the capability to vastly reduce the amount of energy used in industrial and building automation applications.”
This latest announcement follows success in the UK Energy Innovation Awards earlier this year where Invertek won the Best International Trade category, as well as success in last year’s Made in Wales Awards where Invertek won the Technology Award.
