Variable frequency drive manufacturer is ‘Experienced International Business’ finalist
Invertek Drives, AC Drive manufacturer, is proud to announce that it has been named as a finalist in the ‘Experienced International Business’ category in the Welsh Business Awards.
Now in their 13th year, the awards run by South Wales Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by the University of South Wales, are designed to recognise ‘the successes and achievements of Welsh businesses.’
Invertek designs, manufactures and markets a range of compact, easy to use variable frequency drives which are used to control electric motors in industrial automation applications around the World.
First established in 1998, Invertek now sells its products in to more than 80 countries and employs more than 170 people worldwide, including 153 at its Welsh Headquarters.
This latest accolade is further testimony to Invertek’s position as one of Wales’ most exciting businesses – a commitment to continual innovation and a focus on identifying and growing new markets have resulted in a compound annual growth rate of 20%.
The ambitious company opened additional production and logistics facilities last year to meet increasing global demand for its products and a series of recent contract wins have resulted in a range of employment opportunities for skilled electronics professionals looking to join one of the World’s fastest growing global automation brands.
Sales and Marketing Director, Rhydian Welson, comments, “Thanks to a clear global sales and marketing strategy more than 90% of the products we make in Welshpool are currently destined for overseas markets and some of the World’s largest automation companies are now directly working with us.
“We are extremely proud both to be recognised as one of Wales’ successes and to be in a position where we’re actively recruiting for a range of professionals to join our team.”
This latest announcement follows Invertek’s success in a number of other business awards including being named winner in the Technology Award category at the Made In Wales Awards 2012 and Best International Trade category in the UK Energy Innovation Awards 2013, as well as finalist places in the ENDS Green Economy Awards 2013 and the ‘Exporter of the Year’ category at the Made in Wales 2013 Awards.
Invertek is one of four finalists in the Experienced International Business category – the winner will be announced at a Gala Dinner taking place at The Vale Resort on 26th February.
